Una noche que debía ser tranquila terminó en tragedia. Un menor de edad perdió la vida y tres personas más resultaron heridas tras un accidente de tránsito ocurrido alrededor de las 11:00 p.m. del miércoles, en medio de las caravanas motorizadas que recorrieron las calles de la ciudad con motivo de Halloween.
El siniestro se registró en la avenida 19 con calle 7A del barrio Siglo XXI, donde dos motocicletas colisionaron mientras se desplazaban a alta velocidad. En los vehículos viajaban cuatro hombres, ninguno de ellos portaba casco, ni contaban con SOAT o revisión tecnomecánica vigente, según informaron las autoridades de tránsito.
La víctima fatal fue identificada como Branyer Albeiro Figueroa Pedraza, de 16 años, quien falleció en el lugar del accidente. Los otros tres ocupantes fueron trasladados a un hospital de la ciudad, donde permanecen bajo observación médica.
De acuerdo con testigos, el exceso de velocidad y la falta de control por parte de los conductores habrían sido determinantes en el trágico desenlace.
Durante la noche, cientos de motociclistas participaron en una caravana de Halloween que recorrió varios sectores, incluyendo el Anillo Vial Oriental, pese a los controles y restricciones anunciados por las autoridades para evitar aglomeraciones y maniobras peligrosas.
Videos difundidos en redes sociales muestran a numerosos participantes circulando sin las medidas mínimas de seguridad, algunos con disfraces y accesorios alusivos a la fecha, generando congestión vehicular y alteraciones en el orden público.
Las autoridades locales lamentaron lo ocurrido y anunciaron una investigación para esclarecer las causas exactas del accidente y determinar posibles responsabilidades. Además, hicieron un llamado a la comunidad para acatar las normas de tránsito y evitar que la diversión se convierta en tragedia.
La comunidad del barrio Siglo XXI expresó su consternación por el hecho y pidió mayor control por parte de las autoridades durante este tipo de eventos que, cada año, dejan un saldo lamentable de víctimas y lesionados.
